The fall play this year is a play called “Inherit the Wind” and is being directed by Phillip Moss, chair of the creative and performing arts department. The play will be shown on Thursday, Nov. 6.
“Inherit the Wind” takes the audience into a courtroom setting and is a story that is still relevant today. The play’s main idea is on the “right to think,” said junior Nico Abuel, and a heated trial over the teaching of evolution.
The cast and crew have needed to be creative in choosing who will play each role, since there are 28 parts to fill and only 23 people to fill them.
Moss said, “One of the biggest challenges is that we have a lot of roles and not a lot of people, so people are doubling and tripling.”
There are five combo roles in the show, which means one person plays two or more roles. Israel Cleaves has three, Maya Ritts has two, Phoebe Rinaldi is playing four, Abuel has two, and Elliot Karr has three.
Many people who have combo roles in the play have been doing plays throughout their high school career, and some even longer, so some say they have gotten used to it.
Moss said, “They’re doing a really good job.”
